Compositions Dedicated to the NBS Opening Ceremony#
The House of the Most Beautiful Words, as Mirjana Vlajić called the new NBS building in an article published by the Vecernje Novosti newspaper, was officially opened on 6 April 1973. The date was purposely selected because the very same day three decades ago Serbian culture had received a heavy blow when the bombing of the NBS building at Kosančićev venac destroyed priceless written monuments of Serbian culture. Amongst them was "Ninja sili nebesnije" by Kir Stefan Srbin, which had been Serbian oldest known musical manuscript, dating from the second half of the 14th century. "Ninja sili nebesnije" was symbolically performed at the 6 April opening ceremony. Today, on the seventy-fifth "6 April", the National Library of Serbia publicly presents the compositions that renowned Yugoslav composers Mihovil Logar, Vasilije Mokranjac, Enriko Josif, Dejan Despić, Aleksandar Obradović, Milutin Radenković, Dušan Radić and Vitomir Trifunović devoted to the opening of the new NBS building, located on the Vračar plateau. Those compositions premiered at the opening ceremony, which was live-streamed by the Radio Television Belgrade.#
