Kamila (Novi Sad, 1874) #

The humorous-satirical periodical Kamila was first published on St Luke’s Feast Day (30 October) 1873? in a famous inn called Kod kamile by which the periodical got its name. The owner of the periodical was Luka Bocić (i.e. Jocić), who had the same name as the saint on whose feast day the periodical was first published. It was edited by “irresponsible” editors Abu-Zmaj, i.e. Jovan Jovanović Zmaj and Ilija Ognjanović Abukazem, whereas Batut (Milan Jovanović) and “Naslovni potok” (Vladislav Titelbah) were drawers and “printers”. By 1875, 4 or 5 issues were published, and the National Library of Serbia stores Issue 2 (1874) from the second winter it was published on St. Luca’s Feast Day.#
