The French Society of Bor Mines was founded in 1904 in Paris. It was a subsidiary of the St George Mining Company in charge of the exploitation of copper and gold mines on the territory of Bor, Krivelj and Ostrelj in Serbia. The basic capital of the company amounted to five and a half million gold francs, to be soon increased to fifteen million francs. The French Society of Bor Mines managed the mines in Serbia until 1941.
